adminNel corso del fine settimana si è svolto il Gran Premio delle Fiandre, quattordicesimo round del Campionato Mondiale Motocross FIM 2024, disputato sul circuito di Lommel (Belgio), caratterizzato da un fondo sabbioso e noto come uno dei più difficili e impegnativi di tutta la stagione.
In qualifica Ivo Monticelli (Beta RX450) è stato costretto a rincorrere dopo una partenza nelle retrovie e si è piazzato in venticinquesima posizione. Una caduta di gruppo allo start di gara uno ha costretto il pilota a un’altra impegnativa rimonta chiusa in ventiduesima posizione. Nella seconda manche un’escursione fuori pista subito dopo la partenza non ha aiutato Ivo e dopo aver mantenuto a lungo un piazzamento a ridosso della zona punti ha terminato al ventunesimo posto.
IVO MONTICELLI: “Come tutti gli anni quello di Lommel è stato un fine settimana veramente durissimo. Solo nell’ultima settimana ho avuto la possibilità di allenarmi un paio di volte su questo tipo di terreno e i miei risultati non sono stati certo entusiasmanti. Di positivo c’è che con il team abbiamo sempre lavorato bene e nel corso della due giorni di gara siamo cresciuti parecchio. In entrambe le manche sono stato costretto a rimontare e ho finito ventiduesimo e ventunesimo: nella prima gara per una caduta in partenza, nella seconda per un’escursione fuori pista. Non è stato il GP che volevo, ma ho sempre dato il massimo e siamo sempre arrivati al traguardo. Adesso passeremo le prossime due settimane in Belgio per prepararci al meglio in vista della prossima gara In Svezia. A Uddevalla troverò un terreno a me più congeniale e punto sicuramente a migliorare i miei piazzamenti.”
Archiviata la gara di Lommel, nelle prossime settimane MRT Racing Team Beta Factory continuerà la preparazione sui terreni morbidi per arrivare maggiormente preparati al Gran Premio di Svezia, in programma sulla pista di Uddevalla nel secondo weekend di agosto.

Over the weekend the Belgium Grand Prix, fourteenth round of the FIM Motocross World Championship 2024, took place on the track of Lommel, characterised by a sandy surface and known as one of the most difficult and challenging of the entire season.
In qualifying Ivo Monticelli (Beta RX450) was forced to chase after a start at the back of the grid and finished in 25th position. A crash at the start of race one forced the rider to make another demanding comeback, closing in 22nd position. In the second heat an off-track excursion immediately after the start did not help Ivo and after having kept close to the points zone for a long time he finished 21st.
IVO MONTICELLI: “‘Like every year, Lommel was a really tough weekend. It was only in the last week that I had the chance to train a couple of times on this type of ground, and my results were certainly not exciting. On the positive side, we have always worked well with the team and we have grown a lot over the two days. In both heats I was forced to make a comeback and finished 22nd and 21st: in the first race because of a crash at the start, in the second because of an off-track excursion. It wasn’t the GP I wanted, but I always gave my best and we always made it to the end. Now we will spend the next two weeks in Belgium to get ready for the next race in Sweden. In Uddevalla I will find a track more suited to me and I will definitely aim to improve my placements.”’
After the race in Lommel, in the coming weeks The MRT Racing Team Beta Factory will keep training on soft grounds in order to be better prepared for the Swedish Grand Prix, scheduled at the Uddevalla track on the second weekend of August.
