adminIl Gran Premio di Svizzera, diciassettesimo round del Campionato Mondiale Motocross FIM 2024, è stato ospitato dal tracciato di Frauenfeld. Sabato il tracciato elvetico si è presentato in condizioni ottimali mentre domenica, dopo le piogge cadute nella notte precedente, è diventato particolarmente impegnativo mettendo a dura prova piloti e mezzi.
Ventitreesimo al termine del turno di prove cronometrate, Ivo Monticelli (Beta RX450) in qualifica ha centrato una discreta partenza. Durante la corsa ha recuperato anche alcune posizioni chiudendo diciassettesimo. Il marchigiano nella prima manche è scattato ancora bene ma le proibitive condizioni del tracciato non l’hanno aiutato. Un problema agli occhiali non gli ha permesso di capitalizzare la buona partenza ma è riuscito comunque a terminare in zona punti, ventesimo. Nella seconda Ivo si è ritrovato a rincorrere a causa di una caduta in cui è rimasto coinvolto subito dopo la partenza. Dopo una buona rimonta è stato costretto al ritiro nel corso del quinto giro per problema causato dalla caduta in partenza.
Archiviata la terza gara consecutiva in tre settimane, MRT Racing Team Beta Factory tornerà in gara il prossimo 7/8 settembre nel Gran Premio della Turchia, che sarà ospitato sul tracciato di Afyonkarahisar.
Ivo Monticelli: “Per tutto il fine settimana ho avuto un buon feeling con il tracciato e con la moto. Sabato ho chiuso la qualifica in diciassettesima posizione. Un buon risultato ma penso che sarei stato in grado di fare ancora meglio. Purtroppo, un pilota mi ha colpito alla schiena all’atterraggio da un salto lasciandomi abbastanza dolorante. Nella prima manche sono partito molto bene ma ho faticato a prendere il ritmo nei primi giri. Mentre ero quattordicesimo mi sono dovuto fermare a cambiare gli occhiali e ho chiuso in ventesima posizione. Nella seconda sono scattato ancora bene ma alla prima curva sono caduto dopo un contatto con un avversario. Quando sono ripartito mi sono subito reso conto che era successo qualcosa alla moto. Dopo una buona rimonta sono stato costretto a fermarmi per l’accentuarsi del problema tecnico. Le gare scorse non erano andate come avrei voluto e dopo questo fine settimana, non possiamo fare altro che raccogliere quanto di buono abbiamo fatto in Svizzera e metterlo a frutto nei GP finali della stagione.”

The Grand Prix of Switzerland, the seventeenth round of the FIM Motocross World Championship 2024, was hosted at the Frauenfeld track. On Saturday, the Swiss track presented itself in optimal conditions while on Sunday, after the rain that fell the night before, it became particularly demanding, putting riders and vehicles to the test.
Twenty-third at the end of the time practice session, Ivo Monticelli (Beta RX450) made a good start in qualifying. During the race he also recovered some positions to finish 17th. In the first heat Monticelli still got off to a good start, but the prohibitive track conditions did not help him. A problem with his goggles did not allow him to capitalise on his good start but he still managed to finish in the points zone, twentieth. In the second round Ivo found himself chasing after a crash in which he was involved immediately after the start. After a good comeback he was forced to retire on the fifth lap due to a problem caused by the crash at the start.
Archived the third consecutive race in three weeks, MRT Racing Team Beta Factory will return to competition next 7th/8th September in the Grand Prix of Turkey, which will be hosted at the track of Afyonkarahisar.
Ivo Monticelli: ‘All weekend I had a good feeling with the track and the bike. On Saturday I finished qualifying in seventeenth position. Unfortunately, a rider hit me in the back when landing from a jump leaving me quite sore. In the first race I started very well but struggled to get into a rhythm in the first few laps. While I was 14th I had to stop and change my goggles and finished in 20th position. In the second heat I started well again but at the first corner I crashed after contact with an opponent. When I restarted, I immediately realised that something had happened to the bike. After a good comeback I was forced to stop because the technical problem became worse. The past races had not gone as I would have liked and after this weekend, we can only take what we did well in Switzerland and put it to good use in the final GPs of the season.’
